You will need a launcher:
The regular Minecraft launcher should also work, but it will be much more difficult to import the modpack.
Download the Modpack from the #announcements channel in the Glimmerhaven server. The server should already be in the modpack. Otherwise, the address is in the same channel as the modpack download.
If your framerate or game memory is suffering, you can disable these mods without impacting functionality:
Some of these will impact how your game Looks, and removing Fusion, ETF, and EMF will break some resource packs.
You can also remove the following mods, but you will lose gameplay features:
If you have troubles with EMI, you can safely replace it with REI or JEI to keep the recipe viewer and search.
This modpack has numerous gameplay-altering mods. Listed here are mods I consider "unavoidable" in this modpack.
Tectonic (Link) is a massive terrain generation overhaul. It creates gorgeous terrain that has continents, true mountains, and cinematic vistas.
JCraft (Link) adds stands and armour from the anime Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. You may find mobs that naturally spawn with stands.
Fire & Ice (Link) adds many dangerous fantasy creatures, most notably dragons.
Mowzie's Mobs (Link) adds more fantasy creatures, bosses, and abilities.
Alex's Mobs (Link) adds real, cute, annoying, dangerous, and terrifying creatures.
Keybind Bundles (Link) adds radial menu keybinds. Because of the scale of this modpack, many mods overlap keybinds and there simply isn't enough keys. With this mod, you can configure one key to present multiple options. The modpack should come with Anya's keybind bundles by default.
Unseaworthy (Link) makes boats limited to shallow waters. This is meant to encourage using the other transportation mods installed.
Realistic Rowing (Link) is also meant to make vanilla boats less useful. This makes you face backwards when rowing. If this really bothers you, you can safely disable the mod.
Sparse Structures (Link) increases the minimum distance between structures. This is configured to a spread factor of 2 on the server, doubling the minimum distance between structures.
Lootr (Link) makes lootable chests per-player, allowing everyone to loot a chest. The loot table is rolled for each player, so Luck still has an effect.
Tax Free Levels (Link) makes getting higher levels far easier, flattening the exponential curve of XP required per level. This also nerfs some anvil costs in your favor.
Minecraft Comes Alive (Link) gives villages the Stardew Valley treatment: villagers now have unique looks, names, jobs, and opinions. You can marry, gift, procreate, and maintain relationships with the villagers. The destiny system has been made opt-in, and the character creator has been disabled for better compatibility.
Nether Portal Coordinate Scale (Link) makes overworld and nether coordinates 1:1, making nether travel less useful. We have a lot of other transport mods this is meant to encourage.
Xatrix's Unfair Nether (Link) makes the nether noticably worse.
Incendium (Link) adds a lot of biomes and structures to the nether.
End Remastered (Link) makes the end much harder to reach, requiring 12 unique ender eyes to activate the portal.
Nyf's Spiders (Link) makes spiders able to climb on any surface, including the ceiling. As of writing, this seems to break spider AI.
This modpack has many mods meant to improve your quality of life:
You can customise your character with Wildfire's Gender Mod, Figura, Armourer's Workshop, and Accessories.
The Easiest way to customise your character, especially when your character is female, is Wildfire's Gender Mod. This allows you to give your character breasts, with physics, and change the hurt sound.
You can use Accessories to adorn your character with decorations. Botania has a lot of such items.
A good way to make small or large edits to your character or tools is with Armourer's Workshop. It is easiest to make skins in a singleplayer creative world. You can also download skins with the Global Skin Library. Skins work across saves and servers, so it will be easiest to download and create in a single player creative world. See their Wiki.
Figura is by far the most powerful customisation mod in this modpack, allowing you to use the Blockbench 3d modelling software and Lua code to make avatars. Figura does not allow NSFW content on their servers. There are premade models on their discord server you can download and edit, too. See their Wiki.
You can use Essentials for customisation, but this mod is not included in the modpack by default (others will not be able to see your customisations), only has paid customisation, and has various mod incompatibilities.
This modpack was originally centered around travel and infrastructure. Everything has been thought of in that context. As such, there is no easy fast travel mod. But, there are plenty of fun ways to get around!
A particularly overpowered item available at early game, and
upgradable through much of midgame, is the hook from ReHooked.
You can use these like hooks in Terraria. Hooks have a dedicated
accessory slot, so they won't be taking up inventory space. Fire a
hook with C wherever you are looking, Shift+C to retract
a hook, and Space to retract all hooks. See all the hooks by
searching @rehooked in EMI. Mod page
Small Ships is a mod that adds many ships (That can go over
deeper waters!) Type @smallships into EMI to see all the
available ships. These ships are more expensive than vanilla boats, but
are much faster, seat more people, and have large amounts of storage.
Press R to lower the sails, and W and S to increase
or decrease speed. You can also add cannons, fire with Space!
Mod Page
Rustic Engineer has a lot of steampunk transport aparatuses. Type
@rustic_engineer into EMI to see the mod's items.
Contraptions include a Spider Mech, the Dragonfly ornithopter, the
Airship, and the Submarine. These are made almost entirely of iron and
wood, requiring "construction manuals" that can be looted from chests.
Mod Page
Immersive Machinery also has a submarine called the Copperfin that can take upgrades from Immersive Aircraft and is a bit faster.
Gliders is a mod that adds various paragliders, from early-game
to late game, and act as a way to slow your fall or travel short
distances. They are activated the same way an elytra is: jumo while
mid-air. Gliders have a special Accessory slot, so they won't take up
your chestplate slot. It is a good item to have if you are
unexpectedly ejected from another craft mid-air. To see all the
gliders, look up @gliders in EMI. Mod page
For more mid-game transport, you'll find Immersive Aircraft has
a lot to offer. Type @immersive_aircraft into EMI to see
how to craft biplanes, gyrodrones, warships, airships, and quadcopters.
These aircraft are customisable and can be fitted with weapons and
upgrades to alter the handling, efficiency, or deadliness. Mod page
Valkyrien Skies is an insane mod, and certainly the most complex way to travel, but also the most versatile and powerful. With Valkyrien Skies, You can build your own airships. You can make your entire house mobile, if you choose to. These ships are physics based and will flip over if they are lopsided, and get caught on blocks, and sink if it is too heavy. I encourage you to experiment with this in a creative world. Homepage
My character does not render in my inventory. Go to your Figura settings and disable Scissoring. Relevant Bug Report
Game crashes when opening inventory. Try disabling the mod ImmediatelyFast or EMI (Thanks, GammaRays).
The game crashes at certain altitudes or on Vakyrian Skies ships: Try disabling Leawind's Third Person mod in the mod settings.
